Did you know?
The beautiful Meikleour Beech Hedge, by the A93 near Blairgowrie, was planted in 1745. According to tradition, the men who planted it were called away to fight in the Jacobite rebellion and not one returned alive. To pay tribute to their memory the hedge was allowed to grow and it is now the tallest hedge in the world at over 30 metres.
